Back to work

So I have now been back to work for 2 weeks and it literally makes me want to find a window and jump.

I have decided I hate my job more than anything else in my life. It's boring, monotonous and filled with idiots. Literally. I have to fix people's printers because they are too useless to understand how google works. It's a printer.... Either its broken or its not.

Oh, your printer is spewing toner everywhere and has spontaneously combusted? Ever think of turning the stupid thing off? No? Okay then, just keep trying to print and then instead of telling me what the issue is, call and give a vague description of it... Like "my printer is not working" or "it won't print" How about you actually tell me what's going on, so I don't have to play 20 million questions to get the answer.

Oh and the best part is going from my leave to work 10 hour shifts... That is seriously messed up and unnecessary. Not to mention its actually an 11 hour shift... So calculating travel time, I get to spend more time at or travelling to work then I get to spend at home most days... Sounds perfect for someone who has anxiety and stress issues... >.<

Not to mention my benefits company, Sunlife, is the worst benefits company I have ever encountered. They had no one to answer the phone when I called on more than one occasion. If you leave a voicemail, you can count on it never being listened to or your call returned. And then even if you were previously approved for benefits for the same issue, you will still be forced to go through the approval process again. You have to submit a 1 page, 2 sided document that it apparently it took the representative 5 business days to read and process... If you have that many issues with English, you might want to take some lessons or something.

And I am so sick of being asked if I am happy to be back... I know its polite but seriously... Am I happy to be back at the job that stressed me out to a point where I mentally snapped and my body began to believe all food and contact with the outdoors was evil? Yes..  that's why I have a similar crazy grin and eye twitch to a hobo that is about to kill, cannibalize and rape you... In that order.

At least the kittens are getting bigger. They are like 6 weeks now and 2 of them have hopefully found their new families. Bonnie and Clyde are the first to go... Now I just need a home for Gizmo if I can give him up... You really do get attached to the little buggers...

Oh and Christmas, I am almost ready for it... I have most of my gifts done. Now I only have my 2 nephew's gifts and my friends Barb and Cory to buy for. I am finding the boys really hard to buy for... I don't know what little boys like these days... I'm almost set on getting them nerf guns and some extra darts... I will have to make sure to tell them not to shoot there sister or the new baby when she comes along.

Well... Back to my sleepy weekend. I really need to find some more mushrooms so I can get rid of these headaches for a while... They are killing me!

Hopeful...

I am feeling a lot of pressure being released lately. I have gotten my diagnosis of IBS and been started on some meds that seem to help a lot. I also have gotten my ILOA form signed for work so that I am able to take some time off without fear of penalty if I have a flare up or can't make it through a work day. All in all, it is looking up right now.

My next task to accomplish is to get my application in for an apartment in Ottawa. I may be taking a 2 bdrm or possibly just a 1. It all depends on if my room mate if coming with me. It's a tough call, she is my best friend but sometimes she drives me completely insane with her crap.

I am sure it will all get figured out. I'm also pleased to report that dealing with bills has been easier. I have over paid my hydro bill and as such I owe Veridian next to nothing. My phone bill is higher than what I want but now that I have the long distance issue all sorted out it should be much better. Rent is overpaid for this month as well so next month will be much easier to take care of in comparison.

I'm also looking at getting a prescription for Mushrooms for my migraines. It is becoming more and more apparent that I need to do something about them and magic mushrooms (psilocybin - don't quote me on the spelling since I'm in no mood for spell check) is the only thing that helps. I'm not even kidding either, next time you have a killer migraine, take a gram and become a believer.

However, I'm going to find a bagel. The man just left and I'm feeling a lonely carb filled food binge coming on!

New day

Monday was an exceptionally good day... I'm pretty sure I don't think I have ever had a Monday that dripped with satisfaction quite like this past on did... I thoroughly enjoyed work and dinner was delicious. Not to mention Marra and I have started compromising and getting along a lot better.

I am really hoping today will he equally as good. I have managed to have a decent morning without one argument with. I have all my prints from Chris Cromwell up on my bedroom door and I'm hoping to add more very shortly. Tonight I'm going back to being a smoking hot red head and I get to eat the lasagna that I was prepping this morning. I may even get adventurous and make some of my brownies.... I will have to post the recipe and some pictures up here. They are easily the best brownies I've ever had.

Oh! I'm actually getting my bonus at work for this month and possibly even my commission from my sales. I'm very pleased with myself. It has to be from spending so much time with that darling little cousin of mine. She is the sweetest little thing and totally my good luck charm.

I haven't been this happy in a while and I'm pleased to say I'm thinking it will continue. Just thought you deserved an update.

Apartment & Happenings!

Just wanted to update everyone on my apartment situation. It is getting better. The conditions are definitely not what I would like to live in but it is getting mildly better.

The landlord's sons came by last weekend and started doing some work. They determined the mold was from condensation gathering in the apartment and they sprayed eco/pet friendly mold killer to kill the mold and spores, removed the chipped paint and are repainting the ceiling. They also got the sink fixed by replacing the pipes underneath and the whole faucet. It looks a lot nicer and is much easier to manage now. I couldn't be more pleased with the fact that I can do dishes in my apartment now without constantly wiping up my counter and needing a mop bucket under the sink.

We did have a mild issue with the hot water, but it turned out someones child was running amok through the building and turned down the heaters... I tell you, it was a very chilly morning shower to start my week. I was not pleased at the situation.

I also was not pleased that they showed up a day late and then bitched that the apartment was not pristine. I mean there was maybe a couple pairs of shoes on the floor and a few things out of place but everything was tidy and pretty much put away. I had even swept and mopped the entire place and washed down the walls, I even managed to put away almost all the dishes into their proper cupboard! (Which, by the way,no small feat in my home!)

Oh and did you know apparently cat shit is supposed to smell like flowers and fresh linen, because they were having a fit that they could smell the litter boxes when they were standing right beside them. If they think there is a better way to deal with 4 cats, they can let me know, but I think the fact that my whole home doesn't smell like a crazy cat lady's home is a miracle. My animals are kept happy and healthy and I told them to feel free to bring in animal services if they wanted because my animals are well kept and loved. I don't think you will find a more affectionate brood of cats and a more well feed clan of sugar butts. None of them are sick, malnourished or hurt. No one has even complained, nor could the landlords tell how many animals I had until they asked and were shocked at the number because "There is no way you could have that many in here and have it look like this!"

In other news, still no baby cousin as of yet. Twice now my aunt was supposed to be induced but they stupid hospital screwed up. Hopefully it happens for her on Monday, my aunt seems to be getting fed up of being pregnant. I have to admit the suspense is killing me! I am looking forward to meeting my baby cousin!

That's all I got for now, I'll probably give you some new tidbit later!

Beautiful Day :)

So today is absolutely wonderful, what a pain to be stuck indoors all day. I am happy to be on an hour of VTO so that I can at least get a little bit of sunshine in my day.

I have been entertaining myself by keeping busy. I have had a boy over, however I will not tell you who just yet. Other than that I have been tackling bills and economy issues. I believe by next year I will be looking at moving to Ottawa. There appears to be a lot more opportunity there and a much better college program.

In other news I have been doing a lot more cooking and baking. This weekend I am making another delicious pork roast that I swear has to be the size of my head and then we have a rack of ribs to cook up as well. In other words, my place is going to be fully engulfed in a delicious aroma this weekend.

All things considered, it's a great week. I also wanted to show you my work mug that I use for tea, you'll get a giggle out of it. :)

Daily weirdo.

Today work went by quite quickly and as close to normal as you would expect. Then most of the way through my shift I received a call from one of the legendary weirdo's that always seem to find me.

That call started out with my normal call opening which was answered not with a standard greeting from the customer but with "DO YOU BELIEVE IN JEEZUS?!" being screamed in my ear. All I could do is respond with "Sure, but I don't think that has much to do with printers."

After getting his information and getting his printer confirmed, he then told me he was glad that I wasn't one of those N#&&@rs from Hispania(?), I calmly explained that I would prefer he stop referring to people of middle eastern descent in India with that word. He then started asking me what my heritage was and where my family came from, and all I could do was try to steer him back to his printer issue.

When we finally got to the issue, it turned out he was printing on paper that had 2 illustrations on 8.5 x 11 paper... like a story book. Problem was, the illustrations were pre-printed the wrong way for the printer so the text was coming upside down. If you turned the page around it printed the right way up but on the wrong picture. He then wanted to know if he could take out his printhead from his printer and turn it around. I advised him that a) laserjet printers do not have printheads and b) you can't just turn printheads around and make it print backwards. He responded with "Well I did it with my officejet." and I asked him what happened to the officejet, and he retorted with "Well after I put them in backwards the printheads blew up and it stopped working."

Unfortunately the settings in the program he was using were overriding even the most basic ones for the printer. Being tech support I am trained to fix the printers settings and obviously prove functionality. However that is not on every obscure software system on the planet. When I explained this was not our issue and that he would have to call his software provider, he kinda, sorta, lost his shit.

He started screaming that it was our fault and that we were just lying to him to make him look stupid. At this point I was growing increasingly amused with his rantings but little did I know the best was yet you come.

Everything when completely silent for a moment and then he yelled "I will destory you with an apocalyptic hellfire from Jesus!" I nearly died laughing my face off. The poor people around me looked confused but I literally couldn't stop laughing my ass off.

To top it off, the thick hilly billy twang added the most ridiculously over the top effect to the whole call that made my day that much better.

Thank you ridiculous hilly billy Jesus freak. <3

Home.

I am decidedly displeased with work right now. It has been a very long hard day, and don't any of you bitch at me for whining about my cushy job. I deal with the dumbest of dumb people. I literally get asked once daily how to turn on a printer or if it has to be plugged into power to turn on.

Like for the love of god people. READ THE FUCKING MANUAL. It is probably a good thing none of my bosses know about this blog or my ass would be soooooo fired. Apparently calling people stupid is a no-no. Oh and so is yelling at mentors.

So it wasn't really the mentors fault. In the real world we are actually friends, but at work I am a hormonal angsty underpaid overworked bitch. He unfortunately wasn't trained well on windows and that being said he is very fast learner. I just happened to be having an issue installing some dudes printer and my friend who is supposed to know all, drew a blank. I was fine with that until he left me with the instruction to refer to OEM (original equipment manufacturer) just "because something is wrong." I may have (loudly) said "well you didn't know the first thing about it so why should I listen to you?"

I feel badly about yelling at him, but I have a job to do, y'know? If the people who are supposed to be helping me aren't properly trained, then how am I supposed to fix issues and give customers proper recommendations? Amirite?

Opinions?
